Al-Hadikhia

Each night*, you may choose 3 players (all players learn who): each silently chooses to live or die, but if all live, all die.

If the Al-Hadikhia dies by execution, and the Mastermind is alive, the Al-Hadikhia chooses 3 good players tonight: if all 3 choose to live, evil wins. Otherwise, good wins.

Princess

If the Princess nominated & executed a player on their 1st day, no one dies to the Al-Hadikhia tonight.

Scarlet Woman

If there would be two alive Demons, one of which was the Scarlet Woman, the Scarlet Woman becomes the Scarlet Woman again.

How to run it (Storyteller)

Each night Al-Hadikhia wakes and secretly selects three players; announce those three players to the entire table, then have each of the three silently and simultaneously signal their choice (thumbs up/down under the sheet works well). If all three choose to live, all three die — if any one chooses to die, only those who chose to die, die. Watch carefully for protection effects: a Monk, Innkeeper, or Sailor protecting one of the three means that player cannot die regardless of their choice, so if the other two both chose to live, the 'all live, all die' trigger still fires but the protected player survives while the unprotected two die. The nastiest ruling is the Mastermind endgame: if Al-Hadikhia is executed while Mastermind is alive, only good players may be chosen and the win condition flips — good wins unless all three good players choose to live.

How to play

  • Use the ability to create a public dilemma every night: good players who self-sacrifice to save others advertise their own value, giving you information about who is trusted and who might be a key town role.
  • Coordinate with minions before the game: signal privately who you want dead on a given night so your minion accomplices can nudge those players toward choosing to live, engineering the 'all live, all die' outcome.
  • Claim a powerful information role like Empath or Undertaker — your public nominations each night can be framed as 'testing' players, which fits a risk-taking good role's cover story.
  • Vary your strategy: sometimes nominate three players you genuinely want dead and hope they all choose to live; other times nominate one sacrificial player alongside two you want dead, so a self-sacrifice still kills your real targets.
  • The most common mistake is telegraphing your demon identity by consistently nominating confirmed good players — rotate in neutrals or even minions occasionally to create noise and obscure your kill pattern.
  • If you are close to being executed and a Mastermind is alive, do not fight execution too hard; the Mastermind endgame gives you a second shot at winning even after death.

How to fight the Al-Hadikhia

  • Al-Hadikhia's nominations are public, so track patterns over multiple nights: if the same players are repeatedly nominated alongside people who die, the nominator is likely the demon or a minion coordinating with it.
  • When nominated, self-sacrifice (choose to die) to prevent the all-live trigger — a disciplined good team that never lets all three choose to live forces Al-Hadikhia into a suboptimal kill pattern and drains its tempo.
  • Prioritise protecting high-value players with Monk or Innkeeper before the night, since a protected player in a trio of all-livers still survives while the other two die, turning the demon's best outcome into a partial victory for good.
  • Before executing Al-Hadikhia, confirm whether a Mastermind is alive — if it is, avoid executing the demon until the Mastermind is dead, or accept that execution may still lose the game for good.
  • If the Princess executed someone on day one, remember that no deaths occur from Al-Hadikhia that night, buying the town a free round of information-gathering without risking casualties.

Key interactions

Mastermind

If Al-Hadikhia is executed while the Mastermind is alive, the demon gets a posthumous final ability targeting only good players, and evil wins if all three choose to live. Good should execute the Mastermind first or accept that executing the demon is not safe until the Mastermind is confirmed dead.

Monk

A Monk-protected player in the trio cannot die no matter what they choose, so if the other two both choose to live, the all-die trigger fires but only the unprotected two die. Evil should try to identify and avoid nominating the Monk's target; good should protect players most likely to be nominated.

Innkeeper

Innkeeper protection works identically to Monk protection inside a trio: the protected player survives even when the all-live trigger fires, limiting Al-Hadikhia's kills to at most two. Stacking Innkeeper and Monk protection across different nominated players in the same night can fully nullify the ability.

Sailor

A sober Sailor nominated by Al-Hadikhia survives regardless of their choice, and if the all-live trigger fires the Sailor is the only one who lives. Nominating the Sailor is therefore wasteful for Al-Hadikhia once the Sailor is identified, but the demon can use the Sailor's nomination to bait the other two into choosing to live.

Princess

If the Princess successfully nominated and executed a player on the first day, Al-Hadikhia's ability produces no deaths that night. Knowing the Princess is in play should make Al-Hadikhia — and the evil team — prioritise eliminating or poisoning the Princess early to protect the demon's kill window.
