Scarlet Woman
If there are 5 or more players alive & the Demon dies, you become the Demon. (Travellers don't count.)
You have shown me the secrets of the Council of the Purple Flame. We have lain together in fire and in lust and in beastly commune, and I am forever your servant. But tonight, my dear, I am your master.

How to run it (Storyteller)
How to play
- Your primary job before activation is to survive — a dead Scarlet Woman cannot inherit the Demon, so play defensively and avoid drawing nomination pressure.
- Coordinate tightly with the Demon on player count: the moment the game drops to 4 alive non-Travellers, your ability is permanently offline, so the Demon should not self-kill or take reckless risks below that threshold without discussing the consequence with you.
- Claim a safe, passive good role that generates no strong information — Monk, Ravenkeeper, or Slayer are all plausible covers that don't require you to broadcast false results that can be checked.
- If the Demon intends to self-kill to pass the role to you, agree on a night in advance so you know to start playing as the Demon from that point, adjusting your kill targeting to protect the evil team's position.
- The most common mistake is being too passive on day one: you still need to build credibility and social capital, because once you become the Demon you will need the town to trust you enough to not immediately nominate you.
How to fight the Scarlet Woman
- Scarlet Woman's existence means killing the Demon is not automatically a win at 5+ players — always nominate and execute suspected minions first to shrink the living count or remove the backup before gunning for the Demon.
- A confirmed or strongly suspected Demon kill at exactly 5 alive players should make the town instantly scan for who just gained a Demon token: the new Demon must kill that night, so watch the death pattern on the following morning for a target that doesn't fit the old Demon's profile.
- Information roles like Empath, Undertaker, or Chef that ping on Demon registration can expose the Scarlet Woman after the transfer — if the Undertaker checks someone who died after an apparent Demon kill and sees Demon, the swap is confirmed.
- If you suspect a Scarlet Woman is in play, try to execute down to 4 non-Travellers before attempting a Demon kill — at that threshold the ability is dead and killing the Demon wins the game outright.
- Avoid splitting execution pressure across many players late game; focused, sequential eliminations of minion-candidates remove the safety net and make the Demon's self-kill a losing play rather than a resurrection.
Key interactions
The Imp can deliberately kill itself to pass the Demon role to the Scarlet Woman, effectively resetting suspicion and giving evil a fresh Demon that the town has not been tracking. Evil teams should plan this transfer for a night when the Scarlet Woman has built enough trust to survive the remaining days.
If Lil' Monsta dies with 5 or more players alive, the Scarlet Woman becomes its babysitter for the rest of the game rather than a standard Demon, which changes their win condition and night behaviour significantly. Both the Scarlet Woman player and the Storyteller must track this separately from a normal Demon inheritance.
The Storyteller can allow the Scarlet Woman to register as a Recluse to roles that detect character type, though this is explicitly not recommended, making it a rare edge case worth flagging to Storytellers who want to avoid it.
