Boomdandy

If you are executed, all but 3 players die. After a 10 to 1 countdown, the player with the most players pointing at them, dies.

Tick... Tick... Tick... TOCK.

Jinxes

Plague Doctor

If the Storyteller would gain the Boomdandy ability, a player becomes the Boomdandy.

How to run it (Storyteller)

When Boomdandy is executed, immediately kill all players except three of your choosing, then run a loud 10-to-1 countdown and kill whichever surviving player has the most fingers pointed at them (break ties as you see fit). The nastiest ruling is that a Vigormortis-poisoned Boomdandy still triggers the explosion on execution, so never assume a dead Boomdandy means a safe execution. Watch for evil players deliberately pointing at a good target during the countdown — brief them beforehand that pointing is real and consequential.

How to play

  • Your threat is almost entirely deterrent: evil wins if good is too scared to execute you, so project maximum credibility — never let good think you might be bluffing about what you are.
  • Coordinate with your Demon before the game: agree on which three players survive the explosion (likely the Demon plus one or two evil allies) so your team knows who to protect and who is expendable.
  • During the countdown, your evil teammates should point at the strongest good player still alive — pick that target in pre-game discussion so the vote is coordinated and decisive.
  • Claim a passive, hard-to-disprove good role such as Soldier, Monk, or a zero-information townsfolk — something that justifies you surviving many nights without visible action.
  • The most common mistake is over-hinting at your identity to sow fear: if good suspects you are Boomdandy they will simply nominate you last when the Demon is already dead, so stay hidden until the game reaches a critical execution.

How to fight the Boomdandy

  • Boomdandy's explosion only matters if the Demon survives it — focus your deduction on identifying the Demon first, because executing Boomdandy while the Demon is already dead ends the game regardless of the blast.
  • Save the Boomdandy execution for a moment when you can guarantee the Demon dies in the three survivors or is already dead: a known Slayer shot, a confirmed Undertaker chain, or an Exorcist lockout can set this up.
  • During the countdown, the entire good team should point at the same pre-agreed evil player — discuss this openly before any Boomdandy execution so good votes are not split and evil cannot engineer the death of a key good player.
  • If you suspect Boomdandy is in the game, treat any player who loudly resists nomination without offering a strong alibi as a high-priority candidate — the character's power incentivises exactly that behaviour.
  • Do not let fear of the explosion hand evil a free win: three players surviving is enough to win as good if those three include the right people, so calculate survivability rather than simply refusing to execute.

Key interactions

Vigormortis

A Boomdandy who was killed by the Vigormortis and then executed still detonates, meaning the Demon can effectively arm Boomdandy as a posthumous weapon. Good should not assume a Vigormortis-raised Boomdandy is defused.

Storyteller (ability transfer)

If the Storyteller would gain the Boomdandy ability through any mechanism, a player becomes the Boomdandy instead, preventing the Storyteller from holding the nuke. This is primarily relevant when running scripts with ability-copying or theft mechanics.
