Hindu

The first 4 players to die are immediately reincarnated as Travellers of the same alignment.

चत्वारो मृत्युमध्ये पतन्ति, चत्वारो यात्री पुनरुद्गताः। चत्वारो धर्मे स्थितचित्तवृत्तेः, चत्वार एषां न पुनः क्षयः॥

How to run it (Storyteller)

Add the Hindu when you want to extend the game's resource pool and give dead players continued agency rather than spectator status. The reincarnated Travellers are real players with real alignment, so prepare a pool of Traveller sheets before the game and brief reincarnated players privately and immediately upon death. Keep track carefully: only the first four deaths trigger reincarnation, and each reincarnated player retains their original alignment.

Playing with the Hindu — as good

  • Treat early deaths as a potential asset rather than a pure loss — a trusted good player dying early returns as a Traveller who can vote, and their alignment is guaranteed by the Hindu's ability.
  • Prioritize identifying which Travellers are reincarnated originals versus any Travellers the Storyteller added independently, since reincarnated Travellers are alignment-confirmed while others are not.
  • Use the confirmed alignment of reincarnated good Travellers to anchor the vote count — they are safe to trust fully and can act as reliable nominators or vote anchors in close executions.
  • Be aware that the evil team also benefits from this ability: evil players dying early return as evil Travellers, so do not assume all reincarnated players are good just because the Hindu is in play.
  • Coordinate to ensure confirmed good Travellers use their Traveller abilities to maximum effect before they are exiled, since exile removes them permanently unlike ordinary death.

Playing with the Hindu — as evil

  • Engineer early deaths of evil players deliberately — a Minion dying in the first two nights returns as a confirmed-alignment-hidden evil Traveller, effectively giving you an extra evil participant with Traveller powers.
  • If the Demon dies early, the game ends as normal regardless of the Hindu, so protect the Demon at all costs; sacrifice Minions instead to farm reincarnation slots.
  • Use reincarnated evil Travellers to muddy the alignment meta — good players know reincarnated players exist but may forget or miscalculate which slots were evil originals, creating cover for bluffing.
  • Target early execution of players you suspect are good to deny them impactful Traveller abilities, while steering your own deaths toward slots two, three, or four when tactically advantageous.
  • Coordinate with reincarnated evil Travellers carefully — they are confirmed evil to you but appear as ambiguous Travellers to the town, so use them to swing close votes without revealing your communication.
